Closet Cosplay: Fionna the Human

I was bored and made this just in case I make it to SDCC or ECCC this year (fingers crossed!) Since I've never cosplayed before and sewing isn't my forte, I thought Fionna from Adventure Time was a pretty easy one to do. Yeah, yeah, tones of people cosplay her all the time HUSH MY CHILD

The skort isn't quite the right shade of blue and neither are the sock stripes, but the skort is logoless WHOO and the socks come in a pack that happens to have light blue as one of the colors problem solved

One thing though: the socks are knee high on the model, so they may not be long enough...I'm gonna hope that my short legs make up the difference. American Apparel has thigh-high blue striped socks, but those have three stripes and American Apparel is a horrible horrible company anyways. Same goes for the Gap (sweatshops and child labor are not good things) buuuuut the good thing about Gap stores being so popular is that it's pretty easy to find a plain teal or blue shirt in a thrift store somewhere.

I don't have a link for the mary janes, but they sell them at Shiga's on the Ave for around $5 a pair. I felt  that Fionna wouldn't wear dress shoes with all the running and fighting she does, so these soft-soled cotton shoes fit.
