Just Desserts
We had lunch at Madeleine Bread & Desserts after class yesterday, and forgot to take pictures of our actual food! So here are the desserts.

Shopping Tips
- Sales are your friend
- Student discounts are your friend
and most importantly - Sections in stores are really just suggestions. If you're a woman (I say this because I'm a woman, but the principle applies to everyone), don't be afraid to shop in the baby, kids', or mens' sections. We found awesome superhero shades in the baby section, awesome Avengers t-shirts in the boys' section, and great cardigans and belts in the mens' section. Sure, you may get a few funny looks, but at the end of the day, you win because you find all the cool stuff.

Frappy Cupcake Hour
Last Friday, we (along with some friends) decided to take advantage of the sunny day and Starbucks' Half-Price Frappuccino Happy Hour. Let's just call it Frappy Hour.
Since Trophy Cupcakes was pretty much right next door
Enjoy the sun this week!

The More the Merrier
On the seventh floor of a certain residence hall, Bats and I can often be found painting our nails and marathoning TV shows instead of actually doing homework. Last weekend was no different.
Joined by our friend Victoria, we embarked on a night full of the Teen Wolf and every nail polish that Vic and Bats had on hand. Which is a lot. As a result, we all have nails full of polka dots. Some of us more so than others because people who wear top coats under nail polish are silly. *coughBatscough*

Reason #2345 To Love The UW
World Book Night 2012
Yesterday was World Book Night 2012, "an annual celebration designed to spread the love of reading and books."
I stood out in Red Square and handed out free copies of Markus Zusak's The Book Thief to other students passing by. It took around an hour and a half to distribute all 20 copies, which wasn't bad at all. I thought I'd be there for hours! Most of the people who took a book were pretty happy that it was free...except for this one man, who seemed particularly suspicious about the fact that I didn't want anything for the book, haha. It was a great experience, and I'm looking forward to doing it again next year.

All That Jazz
We went with our friend Victoria to Tula's Restaurant & Jazz Club last night. Unfortunately, I only managed to get a couple pictures of that day, since it was too dark inside. Maybe some other time.

Not Exactly Fancy
Got my Threadless shirts in the mail! I bought them during the sale, so each one was $10. Not bad, not bad at all.
Night and Day, Impasse, and the Goodbye Shirt. I'm trying to figure out ways to dress them up, and there shall be more on that later. |

Class is in Session
Today is the first day of the quarter. I haven't even gone to class yet and I've already learned something valuable. I know this seems like common sense, but check your purchases before you leave the store. Hell, check your purchases before you purchase them. Or else, you end up like me.
This, Ladies and Gents, is a nice, skinny, navy blue belt. What is the problem with it? Take a look at the picture. Do you see? Have you noticed it yet? Let me make this easy for you: there are no holes.
Now, I didn't realize this until I was getting dressed for school this morning and realized, "Hold on, the little stick-y part of the belt buckle is not going through the belt. Maybe if I pull the belt more...there will still be no holes."
tl;dr: Check what you buy before you cut the tag and fly 1200 miles only to realize your belt has no holes.
I'll upload a better picture later. Meaning: I won't. |

WIW: "Fancy Enough" Friday
This post is a little late, but unrivaled procrastination skills (and a horrible sleep schedule) are beloved possessions of mine. And this time, I actually took pictures for our most recent "Fancy Friday." It was more like a "Fancy Enough Friday," but that's a whole other story.
Add a cardigan, blazer, and nice scarf to a graphic tee and colored jeans and voila! You have "Fancy Enough." |

I'm a sucker for accessories
I like earrings. This is a fact. I also tend to go through phases when it comes to earring styles.
I used to be very into lever-back earrings. Then it was studs with large plastic decorations. Next up were chandelier and feather earrings.
Since I've started college, simple has been key so studs with small gemstones have been my friend. However, change is always good once in a while, so here is a picture of my most recent jewelry purchase.
